Shirley Gregory Friend November 6, 2016
While going through some papers, I ran across Karens thank you note with this website
11-6-16. It's hard to believe it's been almost 10 years since his passing.

Duane was one of a kind and a very special friend. We met at square dance lessons and instantly became close friends. I'm sure part of that was due to the humor that Ernie and Duane shared. I can still remember Duanes nickname Ernie gave him "Dirty
Duuaane".  Also the cowboy boots with pink feathers glues on them. Duane actually met us at a disntown movie wearing Them!
We were privileged to be fiends with Karen and their 3 sons.
Took many trips together. Mostly square dance conventions.

Duane is missed by MANY.
I know this is very late but,
My condolences to Karen and her family.
Love you Karen

THOUGHT OF YOU TODAY ,BUT, THAT IS NOTHING NEW.
I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU YESTERDAY,AND DAYS BEFORE THAT TOO.
I THINK OF YOU IN SILENCE, I OFTEN SPEAK YOUR NAME.
ALL I HAVE ARE MEMORIES AND A PICTURE IN A FRAME.
YOUR MEMORY IS A KEEPSAKE, FROM WHICH I'LL NEVER PART.
GOD HAS YOU IN HIS ARMS...I HAVE YOU IN MY HEART.

Taylor Rae Ehrlich his proud grandchild

My grandpa has always been there for his grandchildren, Krystal, me, jake, and maddie. Hew would help you out through anythng! Krystal and i would alwyas like to stay the night at Grandpa and Grandma's big house. I would always remember the sound of his loud loud snoring. (which me and krystal laughed about often) I will miss the every four year trips he and Grandma would take us on to Vegas. He would always let us take a ride on the golf cart and even let us drive it! (he must of really trusted Krystal and I becuase we were four and eight years old.)

I hope that someday when god is ready to take me that he and i will still remember each other and our whole family can be together again! I still think aboumy grandpa and other family members EVERY day. I miss hiss awesome hugs and his deep laugh.  Even though it has been almost three years since he has been gone... everyone still misses him SO MUCH! Nobody is perfect on this world, even though he was pretty darn close to it. He never did anything to make me sad or mad. He had a few rules but only for the family's safety. I miss him a lot and want him to know that i will never stop thinking about him. I love you very much! To everybody: Thanks for supporting my family through sll thr hard, sad, and even some happy times. I love you all!  Love, Taylor

Wow. I don't even have the right words to put this all together. My grandpa was one of the most wonderful men to ever step foot on this earth. I thank Jesus for that everyday. My grandpa was one of my greatest heroes, and will be for the rest of my entire life. He has taught me so many unforgetable lessons to suceed in life, and I will always keep them close to heart.

I remember when he bought me a set of golf clubs. I was like, yes! I will finally get to learn something that my grandpa has a passion for! I enjoyed the shooting ranges. Although I am not as good as he was, I sure hope to learn and become a stronger player. I have so many wonderful memories with him and Grandma that I can't even seem to comprehend all of them in one sitting. Even though I had so many memories, each one them still managed to have something special to them.

My grandpas laugh was so amazing. As soon as you heard him chuckle, you couldn't help yourself but to join in. He was so contagous. Everything about him you couldn't get enough of. His bear hugs were the most amazing things that I have ever felt in my entire life. They made me feel so incredibly close to him, so much that I didn't want to ever let go. I will never forget this amazing man. He has taught me so much. When I look back at old pictures, I think, wow, this man is incredible. Not only that, he was so handsome.

Along with everything else, he always made me feel so special. Whenever I though something negative about myself, he always seemed to find several positive things to say about me.

I remember about four years ago, I regretting being the oldest grandchild. It seemed like the youngest had it all. From the holding to the constant attention. But now, I couldn't see my life being any different. And I would never change it for the world. I will never forget the time that I sang with him while he rehearsed the Lord's Prayer. He had such an amazing voice. It was so bold and soothing to the ear. I couldn't help but to stop singing along with him, and just listen to him alone. His voice was so amazing.

Now that I think about, my dad resembles Grandpa so much. Everytime I think about that, I realize how special I am to have a dad just like him.

Most importantly, Grandpa always told me to have Jesus in my heart. He was such a wonderful christian, and that is why I have such a passion to be the same. I will never lose faith that things will get better, and I will always have faith in the Lord. I wish I could thank him over and over and tell him how much I love him. He was so amazing.

P.S. Thank you everybody for giving my family and I such amazing support. We greatly appreciate it. Much love and may God bless you!
